She majored in drama and musical theater at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts at the Collaborative Arts Project 21st Century studio, where she earned her BFA at the end of what she calls "the four hardest years of my life…still.”

Since graduating, Hu has performed across the US in tour de force roles in theater, and worked with notable artists such as Tony Award Winning producer John Glines, Obie Award winning director Richard Caliban, and starred opposite film and television stars like Raven-Symone, Matt LeBlanc, Tim Allen, Mark Harmon, LL Cool J, Chris O'Donnell, Skye P. Marshall, and Oscar Award winning actresses Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon.

In Los Angeles, Hu worked as a freelance writer for Backstage's formerly Unscripted; a Blog for Actors, where she wrote of her experiences and perspectives as an Asian American actress and woman in today's ever challenging industry. From 2008-2013, she accumulated up to 100,000 daily readers of her blog, spanning from China, to England, New York and Los Angeles.

As a stand-up comedian, she has performed at the Improv, the Comedy Store, M-Bar, and Tao Comedy. In 2015, Hu produced “All That You Deserve” a stand-up variety show and performed a half hour set about the consequences of childhood bullying. She continues to ‘stand up’, at Tao Comedy Studio, Los Angeles and various other venues.

Two Girls, One Candle, inspired by her friendship with Tricia Brooks,  is the comedic breath of fresh air, Hu wishes to share with the world, with the intention of connecting society to a higher, inner power and for women who need help lighting their inner flame, by sparking it with laughter.
